Cooking
INTENT
To aid in each student’s personal development & confidence – Cooking contributes to four major areas of children’s development and learning: literacy, social emotional, physical, and cognition.
IMPLEMENTATION
Students cook a variety of dishes using a range of cooking techniques – each week will alternate between a sweet & a savoury that calls on reusing previous weeks’ skills to build confidence as well as opportunities to learn new skills to increase their cooking knowledge range.
IMPACT
Students will understand the basic principles of a varied and healthy diet – new ingredients will challenge students to try new things to increase their diet range further as well as educate them to make better, more informed choices in regard to their personal diet.
