PiXL Build Up
INTENT
PiXL Build Up provides a targeted, scaffolded programme for Student working towards a Grade 4 who would benefit from focused, practical content and skill-building across English, maths and science. It aims to close gaps, boost confidence and raise the likelihood of achieving a pass-standard outcome.
IMPLEMENTATION
The programme is delivered through 20 short modules combining subject knowledge with careers, character and wellbeing content. It is taught as a part of our personal development curriculum, with retrieval practice and low-stakes testing to check progress. Teachers use pre/post checks and knowledge mats to target gaps and inform further teaching.
IMPACT
Impact is demonstrated by improved unit and end-point assessment scores, higher rates of pupils securing Grade 4+ (or meeting personalised pass criteria), increased confidence and better engagement. Measures include pre/post test gain, completion rates for modules, reduction in knowledge gaps and positive student voice evidence.
