PiXL Character & Edge
INTENT
PiXL Character aims to develop the character attributes students need for success in education, work and life — Leadership, Organisation, Resilience, Initiative and Communication (LORIC) — so students leave school confident, motivated and equipped with practical habits and behaviours.
IMPLEMENTATION
Delivered through dedicated curriculum time. PiXL Character uses knowledge mats, practical tasks, short skills sessions and reflection activities to teach and rehearse LORIC attributes. Teacher packs, handbooks and assessed student activities support consistent delivery.
IMPACT
Students demonstrate improved self-regulation, teamwork and organisational skills; evidence includes pre/post skills checks, student portfolios, behaviour and attendance data, and positive employer/FE feedback. Impact is monitored through module completion, student voice and a termly character-data review.
