Riverstone Academy Overview

Riverstone Academy is a specialist primary provision located in Carlin How, offering up
to 20 places for children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The school is
designed to provide a nurturing, structured, and highly supportive environment for
pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, including those with
complex and additional needs.

Riverstone Academy is currently awaiting Ofsted registration, with a clear vision to
deliver a high-quality specialist provision that meets all regulatory requirements and
provides exceptional outcomes for pupils.

At Riverstone Academy, our core aim is to deliver high-quality, personalised education
that enables every child to achieve their full potential academically, socially, and
emotionally. We recognise that many of our pupils may have experienced barriers to
learning in previous settings, and we are committed to re-engaging them through a
bespoke, child-centred approach.

Our curriculum is carefully adapted to meet individual needs, balancing academic
learning with a strong focus on communication, emotional regulation, and life skills.
Small class sizes and high staff-to-pupil ratios ensure that each child receives the
targeted support and consistency they require to succeed.
In addition to core subjects, Riverstone Academy places a strong emphasis on personal
development, wellbeing, and enrichment opportunities. Through activities such as
outdoor learning, creative arts, and practical experiences, pupils are supported to build
confidence, resilience, and independence.

Riverstone Teacher

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team at Riverstone Academy – a new
Primary SEND provision situated in Carlin How and affiliated with Invested Education as
we are looking to recruit a teacher to work with our students who have a range of SEMH
needs and are often working below age-related expectations.
The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated team of teaching and support
staff to provide high-quality education to students across Redcar & Cleveland and
surrounding authorities
The role involves teaching a curriculum which has the ambition of the National
Curriculum but is suitably differentiated and personalised to meet EHC plans across
the cohort of students.
We are looking for someone who:
• Has high aspirations for students
• An ability to work closely as a team
• Has a positive and caring ethos
• Is a passionate and effective teacher with a flexible view of teaching and learning
• Has experience of effective interventions for students who have had difficult
experiences in school prior to attending Fulcrum
